PHYTFIRE - 2nd Meeting (Zuerich 2013)

Exchange of the results of first year (Phase 1 research progress) and 2012 fire blight season;
Preparation of dissemination and publications output;
Planning of Phase 2 cooperative research (e.g., lab exchanges, ring tests, sample sharing).

On the last point, particular emphasis was placed in the extension of the PhytFire network to new partners in Eastern European and Central Asian countries that were only recently confronted with fire blight, with the aim to gather first-hand epidemiological data and to transfer the know-how present in the PhytFirenetwork to their diagnostic services. The attendance to the meeting of several participants from those countries was made possible by travel grants sponsored by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
